The charcoal artwork captures the innocence and vulnerability of a lion cub. I have particularly focused on beautifully depicting the soft fur, wide eyes, and playful demeanor of the cub. The contrast between the dark charcoal strokes and the gentle features of the cub creates a powerful image that evokes a sense of both strength and fragility.

Lion cubs face numerous challenges and dangers in the wild before they reach adulthood. From the moment they are born, they are vulnerable to predators such as hyenas, snakes, and rival male lions who may kill cubs to establish dominance or eliminate competition. The mortality rate for lion cubs is high, with estimates suggesting that up to 80% of cubs do not survive their first year.
