In nature there are many symbiotic relationships between animals and some of the most enchanting are not always the ones you would expect. The Dung Beetle for instance, will zone in on some fresh dung and before you know it the dung is gone. And so it is that the Red Billed Oxpecker is another one of these super cleaners. They climb into the most unsavoury areas of animals to get at the ticks that are fat with blood and thereby they feed themselves while getting rid of irritants for the animals. This, in turn, reduces the tick population that carries so many diseases that can affect even us. There are the most comical expressions when a bird gets too near an eye or a nostril and present expressions on animals that you would not expect. This impala was getting a thorough dry cleaning by several birds.
